Pricing your job
Accurate restringing price estimates require an evaluation of the repair, and are generally dependent upon two factors:
Length of the strand when finished
Prices are calculated on the finished strand length. The length usually changes with restringing. Why? A newly strung strand has very tight knots, with no stretching of the bead cord between the knots. I have seen a very stretched strand of pearls “shrink” by 2-3 inches or more when newly restrung. Also, if you have a strand of beads that isn’t knotted that you want restrung with knots, it will grow in length.
Findings preferences
I will work with you to decide what clasp will work best for your necklace/bracelet, and will make sure you agree to the price of the clasp before doing your work. Clasps, pearls, beads, and other findings are an additional charge.
The first step is to ship your strand to All Strung Out. Once I have your pearl or beaded jewelry, I will give you a restringing price, before completing the work. If there is going to be a big change in the length (this can happen if your piece is very stretched out and the beads aren’t uniform in size, making it difficult to predict the restrung length), I will give you a price range, so there are no surprises. KNOTTED
For knotted pieces, I charge $3.50 per inch, with a $15.00 minimum charge.
UNKNOTTED
For unknotted pieces, I charge $2.50 per inch, with a $15.00 minimum charge.
- Re-establishment of any patterned arrangement, graduated or design is subject to a $10.00 minimum additional charge.
- Complex projects are subject to additional charges, e.g. small bead work, woven designs.
- Rush delivery is available for a $10.00 minimum additional charge.
- Cleaning is included in these prices.
- Prices do not include replacement clasps or specialty parts.
- Clasps are not included in finished measured length, you are paying for only the actual restrung length.
- With Add-A-Pearl necklaces, please provide the desired completed length – adding pearls will add length that you may not want.
